Healthy Eating

How do I start?

why eat healthy

To Live Life Well through healthy eating does not mean going on a diet.  It’s about changing your eating habits.  You can introduce small changes to the way you eat, then slowly make other changes as you adapt.

Here are some easy ideas to get you started:

  • Switch to low or reduced fat milk and yoghurt or ‘added calcium’ soy beverages
  • Try having more fish (any type of fresh or canned). Aim for at least twice a week
  • Trim the fat off your meat, and try to limit fatty meats such as sausages and salamis
  • If you need a snack, try unsalted nuts and fresh fruit.
  • Limit take-away foods to once a week
  • Limit snack foods such as potato crisps and corn crisps to once a week
  • Limit cakes, pastries and chocolate or creamy biscuits to once a week.
